Douglas A. Dickey, CPA, CEPA

Areas of Concentration:
Estate and asset protection planning, mergers and acquisitions, feasibility study, business plan development, succession transition, exit planning, risk management planning (RMaP), profit optimization, healthcare as well as sourcing of financing for businesses.

Doug Dickey received his accounting degree in 1979 from Sam Houston State University and received Certification by the Texas State Board of Accountancy shortly thereafter. With the exception of a short period as a controller for an SEC Registered Investment Advisory Firm, Mr. Dickey has been in public accounting since 1979. He has been a member of the Houston Chapter of TSCPA's Management of Accounting Practice committee, The Turnaround Management Association, The Houston Business Owner’s Network, as well as a founding board member of the Texas Center for the Missing which administers the Amber Alert program for Harris and the surrounding 13 counties. Mr. Dickey is a frequent speaker and panelist on topics ranging from tax compliance and tax planning, estate planning and asset protection, business formation, structuring, start-up financing, growth and optimization as well as exit planning.

Rick Gornto, CFP

Rick is Partner of Counsel of DRDA CPA's. Management includes developing best practices in the company's infrastructure for better internal growth as well as additional mergers and acquisitions of CPA practices. Rick has 30 years experience in building and developing small to mid size businesses and helping them grow is one of his passions. In addition to his duties with DRDA he is the founding principal of First Financial Benefits, Inc. which manages governmental pension plans.

Rick was an economics major from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the University of New Orleans and also a Certified Financial Planner major from the University of Houston. He has served on the Alvin Community College Board of Trustees, Alvin National Bank Board, Child Advocate of Houston Board, Communities in Schools Board, Nolan Ryan Foundation Board and is the current Chairman for the HCA Clear Lake Regional Hospital Board.
